Perspectives on Development Autumn 2009
Dedicated to economic development, multilateral co-operation and social progress, “Perspectives on Development” will outline the role of the World Bank as a catalyst for growth in international investment, private sector development , infrastructure, water, agriculture, energy and natural resources, education, public health, poverty reduction and other priority areas. The upcoming edition, to be published Autumn 2009, will be presented at the World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings which will be held in Istanbul, Turkey, returning the meetings to Europe for the first time in six years. The edition will contain Regional Perspectives for each of the World Bank’s geographical areas: Africa, East Asia and the Pacific, South Asia, Europe and Central Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean and the Middle East and North Africa. This edition will include articles on Sustainable Development, Energy and Climate Change, Water and Sanitation, Infrastructure and Transport, Finance and Investment, Microfinance, Education, ICT, Private Sector Regulation and Competition, Public Private Partnerships and Corporate Social Responsibility. Contents subject to change.
